Course outline
The Cambridge undergraduate programme (or Tripos) in Music is designed to give you fundamental skills in writing and analysing music, and to deepen your understanding of music in its historical and cultural contexts. In addition to historical, critical, and analytical studies of a wide range of music, you can choose courses in composition and performance: during your three years you will have an increasing amount of free choice in the subjects you study, including the opportunity to pursue substantial self-directed projects. Although many music students from Cambridge enter the music profession in one guise or another, the course provides a broad education for those who take up other occupations. It is also possible to study Music as part of the Education tripos and more information about this can be found here.

Music Awards
