The Robin Orr Lecture
28 November 2012, 5 p.m.
West Road Concert Hall
This year’s Robin Orr Lecture celebrates the 150th anniversary of Claude Debussy, including a complete performance of his two books of Preludes (1909–13) by pianist and scholar Roy Howat, who produced the critical edition of them for the Paris-based Œuvres complètes de Claude Debussy. Roy Howat’s lecture-recital will precede (and aerate) the musical performance with a look at the interesting links between the two composers, and at some of the consummate skills that Robin Orr so admired in Debussy’s music.
This event has now been cancelled.
