Faculty of Music, University of Cambridge
The Newton International Fellowships offers prestigious but highly competitive two-year postdoctoral fellowships to researchers from outside the UK, and the deadline for this year’s competition is 10 April 2013. The Faculty of Music will consider hosting applications of the highest quality, and prospective applicants are invited to send outline proposals to the Chair of the Faculty’s Research Committee, Professor Nicholas Cook (njc69@cam.ac.uk), to whom any enquiries may be addressed. These proposals must be received no later than 20 February 2013.
Before submitting your proposal to us, carefully read the Newton International Fellowships website and the Scheme Notes, including the conditions of eligibility. There is no need to initiate an e-GAP application at this time.
Owing to the extremely competitive nature of the scheme we regret that we can host only a very small number of applications. We will review your outline proposal and will aim to tell you by the beginning of March whether we can host your application. Those candidates whom we are able to host will be asked to submit further materials to us by 16 March. We will then work with you on your application prior to submission via e-GAP.
Information to be provided at outline proposal stage:
- Curriculum vitae including details of publications
- Description of current research (max 1500 characters including whitespace)
- Abstract of proposed research (max 1000 characters including whitespace)
- Description of proposed research (max 8000 characters including whitespace). You may wish to organise this into the following sections: Context; Research questions/problems; Aims; Projected outcomes; Methodology; Significance and impact.
