Dominic de Grande awarded Arthur Bliss Prize for Composition

Many congratulations to Dominic de Grande, former M.Phil student, who has been awarded the Arthur Bliss Prize for Composition in 2016. The award is made for the best portfolio of compositions submitted in either the M.Phil or Part II of the Music Tripos.

Over the past 10 years, Dominic de Grande has composed music for an array of award wining projects, including: BBC and Channel 4 documentaries, independent films, art installations, choreography, ensemble and choral works. The pieces composed for this portfolio are all based on the Psychogeography of sound.  Each piece is an imaginative and narrative based response to extensive walks that Dominic has taken around London and are built up using a multitude of found-sounds, samples, improvisations, scored materials & lyrics.
