Two Temporary University Lectureships in Music

Applications are invited for two temporary University Lectureships at the Faculty of Music, University of Cambridge. The first is a Temporary University Lectureship in Ethnomusicology, a fixed-term appointment for nine months from 1 October 2015 to 30 June 2016. The second is a Temporary University Lectureship in 20th/21st-century music including popular music, a fixed-term appointment for twelve months from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2016.

Both appointments will be based in central Cambridge. The successful applicants will be required to teach in the areas of specialism indicated and in addition to teaching (which may include lectures, seminars and/or small-group teaching), duties include research, examining and some administrative work.  Candidates are expected to have a good first degree and a doctorate in a relevant subject area, and have a record of excellence in research with publications and participation in scholarly activity commensurate with stage of career. Candidates will be able to demonstrate evidence of the ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and should be willing to contribute to the smooth running of the Faculty.

* The posts are graded at Grade 9 of the University’s single salary spine and initially will be available at step 1 on this grade.
