Reminder: Fetching – change of procedure & policy with immediate effect (trial since 14 March 2012)

If you want an item to be fetched, and wish to use it in the library only we
will ask you to leave your university card with us. The card will be kept with us, and we will return it immediately once you return the fetched item to us. This procedure applies to all fetched closed-access items (e.g. CDs, DVDs, MPhil theses, XPas, X….).

Term loans due today!

All term loan items are due back today (24th April 2012). Fines will be acrued after today, if you haven’t returned, or returned and had them reissued to you.

If you can reborrow an item it will be due back on 15th June 2012.

Please remember that online renewals are not possible and that you will need to bring in all items. If the item has not been reserved for someone else and your account is not blocked, you might be able to re-borrow the item after we have seen it.

Term borrowing started today

Term borrowing started today!
This means that you can now borrow ordinary loan items for a term loan borrowing time: i.e. until Friday, 15 June 2012.

Please note that an item can be recalled during term time (for how to do this, see “How can I reserve, hold or recall a book?” at http://ul-newton.lib.cam.ac.uk/vwebv/ui/en_US/htdocs/help/contents.htm). If an item is recalled the current borrower will have 5 days to return the item, after that s/he will be fined as the book becomes overdue.

If you have already borrowed an item which is due next Tuesday (24/04/2012), then you can now return the item, and have it re-issued to you, if you still need it and it if it hasn’t been reserved by someone else.

Easter Closure

The Pendlebury Library will be closed for the Easter break from Friday 6 April to Friday 13 April (inclusive) 2012.

We will re-open at 9:30 on Monday 16 April 2012.

Items to be returned may be left in the Library Book Drop during the closed period, whenever the West Road Concert Hall is open.

Overnight loans borrowed on Thursday 5 April will be due back Monday 16 April before 10am.
