William Quillen (musicology) is a Junior Research Fellow at Clare College. He specializes in music post-1945 and Russian music. He completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley with a dissertation on Russian music from the mid 1980s to the present. He also studied at the Moscow Conservatory (supported by a Fulbright IIE grant) and Indiana University, Bloomington, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in music and history. He has also worked in the administration of the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, where he served as Project Developer between 2008-10, and helped organize conferences and concerts in Russia, the US, and the UK.
