The purpose of the fee is to cover overheads incurred by the Faculty as a result of activities carried out by visitors during their stay and to help improve the facilities that we can offer. 

Prospective visitors preparing applications to funding bodies are advised to include this fee in their application. If your funding body will not cover this charge, or if you are self-funding, there is a possibility that part of the fee may be waived by the Faculty, but you must demonstrate that you have attempted to secure these funds. Please note that a minimum administration fee will always be charged.

The Faculty’s fees  are listed below. These rates are from  9 December 2016:


Visiting Scholars

Visiting Students

  • £2,400 for a period of 12 months (Incl. VAT)
  • £500 per term
  • £720 per term (Incl. VAT)
  • £90 per week (Incl. VAT) if visiting less than a term
  • An additional £25 admin charge for date changes


The first fee instalment must be paid one month in advance of your agreed start date.
