Music Taster Days on Tour

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, our planned Taster Days on Tour to Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol and Swansea have had to be postponed. We hope to be able to rearrange these events for later in the year, and will confirm new dates on our website as soon as we are able to.

We are delighted to announce that the Faculty of Music is taking its Taster Day programme on tour to Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol and Swansea!

Our Taster Days on Tour are free events primarily aimed at Year 12 students from maintained sector schools and colleges who are thinking about studying music in higher education. Although the days are primarily aimed at Year 12, we will also consider applications from students in Year 11 and Year 13.

The Taster Days offer an insight into what it is like to study music at University. Through two sample lectures and a talk about studying music at Cambridge, including a Q&A about the admissions process, students will experience some of the teaching methods used by university academics and learn about the opportunities and facilities available at the Faculty of Music. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet some of our lecturers and current music undergraduates – we'll be there to answer any questions you have!

A number of travel bursaries are available for those students travelling long distances.

When are they?

Our Taster Days on Tour will take place in March and April 2020. Each Taster Day will run from 1.30-5pm on the following dates:

- 30 March, Bridgewater Hall, Manchester

- 31 March, Sage Gateshead

- 2 April, St George's, Bristol

- 3 April, Brangwyn Hall, Swansea

Booking for our Taster Days on Tour has been suspended in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We will reopen bookings as soon as we are able to confirm rescheduled dates.
