Information about teaching delivery in Michaelmas Term 2021

We are very much looking forward to welcoming all new and returning students to Music in October. You should have received an email from the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education, Prof Graham Virgo, on 30th July, setting out the University’s plans for teaching in 2021-22 (and specifically for the first term). The text is available here. In Music, our expectation is that the great majority of teaching will take place in person unless we are advised to make any changes for public health reasons. Please be assured that we are monitoring the situation carefully and will provide updates should changes in the national situation affect the University’s guidance.

To support any students forced to self-isolate or otherwise unable to attend Faculty taught sessions for COVID-related reasons, we will aim to record all lectures and as many seminar sessions as possible during this academic year and make these available online.  In addition, we are pleased to offer a range of new and redeveloped online resources to support our Part IA Tonal Skills and Part IB Performance courses which complement the core teaching of these courses.  Full details of all courses and resources will be outlined in the 2021-22 Student Handbook which will be made available online at the start of Michaelmas Term.
