Starting from her local public library, followed by a short –term placement at the University of Harare in Zimbabwe, her first main professional post was in the King’s Fund library in London, specialising in health services. A move to East Anglia brought employment as a reference librarian in both Suffolk and Cambridgeshire public libraries.  Joined the Pendlebury Library as Assistant Librarian in 2008.

Prior to coming to the Pendlebury, Helen worked as Local Government Librarian for Cambridgeshire County Council, and then on the University’s Downing Street site at the Haddon Library for Archaeology and Anthropology.

She is currently Membership Secretary of the Cambridge Library Group, and on the Education Committee of IAML (UK) - the International Association of Music Librarians.

Helen works full-time at the Pendlebury, and with a husband and three children, spare time is often in short supply, but she does manage to fit in swimming, cycling and baking.
