Biography:

Christine Ahrends completed her studies of music and musicology at the Academy of Music “Carl Maria von Weber” Dresden, Germany, the Conservatory “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, Italy, and the Academy of Music and Dance, Cologne, Germany. She received additional training in neuroscientific methods, including EEG, fMRI, MEG and TMS techniques. She currently works in research on music and neuroscience in the Dresden Music Cognition Lab, Technical University Dresden, Germany, and as a professional singer. Her own research is about the reward effect of music and neural adaptations due to musical training.
