Instrumental Awards Scheme
The Instrumental Awards for Chamber Music scheme exists to promote chamber music amongst students of the University. It is an intercollegiate scheme which is open to undergraduates and graduates at all colleges.
Here is a short video from Professor Maggie Faultless, Director of Performance, and Artistic Director of the scheme to give you a brief guide to what you can expect from an Instrumental Award:
We are also fortunate enough to have a short video from two students, both of whom have completed 3 years on the scheme:
In December 2020 we had a workshop in West Road Concert Hall with Professor Maggie Faultless; here are two recordings from the afternoon.
The first video shows a newly formed quartet – Alex Semple, Hannah Dienes Williams, Elin Douglas and Max Todes – performing Mendelssohn Quartet in A minor, op.2 no. 13 (extract of 1st movement)
This second video shows one of the wind quintets who have been performing together for the last 3 years. They are Felix Blake, Maddy Morris, Tom Hammond, Francis Bushell and Sol Alberman and are performing Francaix, Wind Quintet no.1 (extract of final movement)
Please do come to our Performance webinar if you have any questions or alternatively you can get in touch with Katie Lewis, (kjm63@cam.ac.uk) Administrator of the Instrumental Awards Scheme.
