Faculty of Music

John Hopkins

Cambridge composer John Hopkins will discuss his BBC commission White Winter, Black Spring, a setting of poetry by Robert Lowell for tenor, baritone and 13 players, which was first performed at the Huddersfield Festival. The session promises to offer a fascinating insight into the creative process, encompassing both technical and poetic questions.

The Faculty’s series of Composers’ Workshops is open to students in all years of the undergraduate music course, to Master’s and doctoral students, and anyone else with an interest in the creation of new music. Because space is limited, please email Richard Causton (rjc94@cam.ac.uk) if you are not a Faculty member and wish to attend.
