Faculty of Music

Don Giovanni

We are delighted that Stefano Castelvecchi will be giving a pre-performance talk on our Mainshow Don Giovanni at 7pm before the show on Friday 21st February. Stefano is a lecturer at the Faculty of Music who is giving a series of seminars this year on another of Mozart's Da Ponte operas, Le Nozze di Figaro. He has recently published a book entitled 'Sentimental Opera: Questions of Genre in the Age of Bourgeois Drama' which discusses numerous aspects of Mozart's operas. Stefano has published critical editions of works by Rossini and Verdi and various articles on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Italian opera. Join us as Stefano takes us on a whirlwind tour of Mozart's fantastic opera before the performance at 8pm. If you've already bought your tickets for Friday's show then there is no excuse not to come! If you haven't, get buying as they're selling fast!
