As usual, the work with an outstanding Cambridge student is a surprise package, but the pieces in the first half also continue to amaze! The slow movement of the Mozart quartet is harmonically quite extraordinary; and with his innovative textures and harmonic invention Ravel creates a unique and magical sound world.
