Messiaen's thrilling organ mass draws on his own improvisations as well as his love of Indian and Greek rhythms and birdsong. Its five movements vividly evoke Pentecostal themes: tongues of fire, things visible and invisible, the gift of Wisdom, birds and streams; the wind of the Spirit. This colourful music is ideally suited to the magnificent Létourneau organ of Selwyn College Chapel.
