Tom Beghin performs late Beethoven
In 1817, Thomas Broadwood sent Beethoven a gift of a new piano. Beethoven enthused that he "will regard it as an altar on which I will offer to god Apollo my most beautiful sacrifices of spirit." The results included Beethoven’s last three piano sonatas. Tom Beghin (3) will perform Opp. 109, 110, and 111 on a unique replica of Beethoven’s Broadwood piano. Crafted by the renowned master instrument builder Chris Maene, this instrument is being brought to the UK specially for this event.
