We are delighted to hear that Prof. Alisha Jones, who will be joining the Faculty in January 2022, has been awarded the Society for Ethnomusicology’s Ruth Stone Prize for the most distinguished first monograph in the field. Prof. Jones’s book, Flaming? The Peculiar Theopolitics of Fire and Desire in Black Male Gospel Performance, was published by Oxford University Press in 2020.
