We are delighted to report the announcement by the American Musicological Society that Prof. Alisha Jones, who will join the Faculty as Associate Professor in January 2022, has won two prizes for her book Flaming? The Peculiar Theopolitics of Fire and Desire in Black Male Gospel Performance (Oxford University Press, 2020). She is the 2021 recipient of both the Music in American Culture Award and the Philip Brett Award run by the AMS LGBTQ Study Group.
