Many congratulations to our former PhD student, Adam Behan, who has been awarded the 2022 Karl Geiringer Scholarship in Brahms Studies by the American Brahms Society, for his dissertation Life, Work and the Individual Classical Performer: Maria Yudina’s Artistic Practice and Imagination, 1947–70 (PhD, University of Cambridge, 2022). 

Established in 1990, the Karl Geiringer Scholarship is awarded by the American Brahms Society to a doctoral candidate whose work demonstrates 'significant original thought and research'. Further details of the award, and a link to Dr Behan's dissertation abstract, can be found here.

Dr Behan is now Assistant Professor Music in the Department of Music, Maynooth University.
