We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kyra Humphreys as the new Co-Director of Performance at the Faculty of Music. Kyra is a distinguished orchestral and chamber musician whose career spans many of the UK’s leading symphony and chamber orchestras. She has appeared as soloist at the Proms, performs regularly with her Zanfonia trio, and served as the Co-Leader of the Royal Northern Sinfonia for nearly three decades. Alongside her busy concert career, she has coached for the National Youth Orchestra for 17 years and contributes to the NYO Inspire programme. She also holds teaching positions at the RNCM and, as a Visiting Artist, at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her full biography is below.
Kyra joins us for the Academic Year 2026-27, and will work along James Way in leading the Faculty’s performance curriculum.
