Many congratulations to music alumna, Kate Whitley, who won the Amateur or Young Performer Award at the British Composer Awards held at the British Film Institute on Wednesday night.
The award was given for a piece she wrote called 'Alive' for children's choir and orchestra commissioned by Multi-Story. The work was premiered on 20 June 2014 at Peckham car park by the Multi-Story Orhcestra, Southwark Youth Orchestra, Lewisham Schools Sinfonia and Peckham Chamber Orchestra.
