Faculty of Music

Queens’ College, Cambridge is delighted to be able to offer a postgraduate studentship for a Home or EU student proposing to commence postgraduate study within the Faculty of Music in October 2017. The studentship is open to applicants intending to take the MPhil in Music Studies with a view to continuing to a PhD in Music at Cambridge.

The studentship will cover the full University Composition Fees for the MPhil and the PhD, together with a generous stipend for maintenance. The funding will be worth in total £25,000 pa through the four years of the award. It is a condition of eligibility for the award that applicants make Queens’ College their college of first choice. For the successful candidate, continued tenure of the award from MPhil to PhD is contingent upon both satisfactory academic progress within the Faculty and continued membership of the College.

Applications are made via the University’s Applicant Portal, for which see the following webpage: How do I apply?. The closing date for applications for this studentship is 4 January 2017. Applicants should apply for the MPhil in Music Studies, indicating that they intend to continue to the PhD, that they wish to be considered for this studentship, and that their first choice of college is Queens’ College. The successful candidate will need to apply for a PhD place in the normal way during the academic year 2017-18.
