About
Hannah Kieve is a PhD candidate in Music at the University of Cambridge. She holds an MA in Music with French, German, Yiddish, and Modern Hebrew from the University of Chicago, and previously studied Music at the University of Oxford. Her doctoral research examines Jewish liturgical music in post-Holocaust diaspora communities, focusing on how melodies move between continents to shape transnational Jewish identity and communal space. She is particularly interested in questions of memory, migration, and cultural exchange across synagogue and church traditions. Alongside her academic work, she serves as Head of Music at Alyth, one of the largest Progressive Jewish communities in the UK.
