2.00pm, Recital Room at the Faculty of Music

Ed Bennett

Irish composer Ed Bennett’s music has been described as ‘anarchic’ (Irish Times), ‘manic’ (Classical Music) and ‘thrilling’ (Gramophone). It is often characterized by its strong rhythmic energy, extreme contrasts and the combination of acoustic, electronic and multimedia elements.  He is artistic director of the ensemble Decibel and was recently awarded the Leverhulme Prize for Performing Arts.

The Faculty’s series of Composers’ Workshops is open to students in all years of the undergraduate music course, as well as masters and doctoral students, indeed anyone with an interest in the creation of new music. Because space is limited, please email Richard Causton ( if you are not a Faculty member and wish to attend.
