Johannes Wildner Conducting Masterclass

Johannes Wildner is Professor of Conducting at the Vienna University of Music and was Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra from 2010–2014. He is visiting the Faculty of Music for the first time to take conductors and pianists through the well-known tongue-twister for conductors, the Schumann Piano Concerto. Places are available for pianists (both as soloist and to play the orchestral parts), string quartet (pre-formed or individuals), and conductors.

There are seven fabulous Practising Performance events this term, and, by popular request, three of these are conducting masterclasses. The conducting classes are also open to pianists and others, ideal opportunities to develop repetiteur skills that are essential in the music profession. All this term’s classes are open to the public.
