We are delighted to announce that PhD student Rajan Lal has been awarded a four-year Junior Research Fellowship at Trinity College, starting in October 2024. Rajan’s thesis offers a new way to analyse the music of Scriabin; his proposed project for the fellowship expands that work to other composers of the early 20th century, notably Kaikhosru Sorabji. Rajan has published recently on Schoenberg (Music Theory Online), and has articles and a book chapter forthcoming on Berg (Music Analysis), on Scriabin’s sonata forms (JRMA), and on Hildur Guðnadóttir’s music for Joker(2019).
