Dr Marta Gentilucci

It is a great pleasure to announce that the Faculty of Music will welcome Dr Marta Gentilucci from 1 September 2022 as its new Assistant Professor in Composition. Dr Gentilucci is a specialist in electroacoustic composition. She completed a master’s in vocal arts as a soprano and a master’s in foreign literature (English and German) in Italy. An MA in composition and computer music followed, at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. She holds a PhD in composition from Harvard University and thereafter held residencies at IRCAM and at the Radcliffe Institute. Recent commissions include a processional work of music and poetry  – moving still – premiered at the Venice Biennale in 2021 and to be reprised at the Paris Philharmonie in September 2022. Dr Gentilucci’s current residency is at The French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici (2021-22).
